Load video: Video tour of the Belforti guitar manufacture in Paris

Born in ParisBuilt in Michigan

Custom electric guitars and basses, built around you.

Electric guitars and basses, handbuilt without compromise, one player at a time.

Trusted by artists and industry partners

Boutique guitars too often hide imprecision behind tradition. We keep the hand work and raise the standard: every board rated, every neck PLEK-processed, every instrument built for one player.

Marin Nourry-Belforti, founder

From Paris to Michigan.

What every Belforti shares.

Seven details built into every instrument, whatever the model.

  1. PLEK-processed

A PLEK machine working on a guitar

Every neck is measured under string tension on the PLEK, and each fret dressed to it, so the action can sit low without buzzing.

  2. Invisible fret tangs

A detailed view of the Belforti Mare Signature Ziricote Side dots with a fine art deco style and matching wood

No fret tang shows at the edge of the fretboard. Just smooth wood under your hand, from the first fret to the last.

  3. Carbon reinforced necks

A series of Belforti guitars and necks next to each other

Carbon reinforcement runs inside every neck, so it stays straight through seasons, travel and string changes.

  4. Easy truss rod access

Close-up of a Belforti G·26 - Essential electric guitar showcasing purple body and maple neck from the Essential Series.

A spoke wheel sits right at the end of the fretboard. Adjust the neck in seconds, without taking the strings off.

  5. Premium hardware

Bridges by ABM, made in Germany. Tuners by Hipshot, made in the USA.

  6. Graded tonewoods

Stacks of various tonewoods, showcasing a selection of high-quality wood for musical instrument construction used at Belforti Instruments

Every body, neck and fretboard is vibration-tested with BING, the method developed by CIRAD, and scored on the Belforti Rating™. Only woods scoring 70 or more become a Belforti.

  7. Heel-less design

The neck flows into the body with no heel block, so your hand reaches the highest frets without a bump.
